No final do século XIX, a atual sede da Pousada dos Tucanos fazia parte de uma colônia de
agricultores franceses e suíços que cultivavam, principalmente, frutas cítricas (maçãs, pêras,
pêssegos e etc.). Esta localizada na Serra da Mantiqueira. Da varanda, avista-se o Vale do Paraíba
e, ao fundo, a Serra do Mar. Descrever toda essa beleza é tarefa para poetas; vivê-la é um prazer
que leva ao silêncio contemplativo.
